Vogue’s New Web-Reality Show

July 17th, 2008

Vogue and IMG Media have teamed up to produce an elaborate web-reality series about the fashion industry.  “Model.Live”, as the show is named, will follow three models as they navigate the industry, tracking them on casting calls, catwalks, and their travels during fashion week.  Each of the 12 episodes will be eight minutes long and run on Vogue.tv starting Aug. 19.  The series cost $3 million - about $31,000 a minute - to produce, which makes it a huge bet for Express LLC, who bought into the show as the lead sponsor.  This medium hasn’t really been tested yet, but it is believed to be a promising venture.  WSJ (July 17, 2008)
