Vanity Fair and CBS News Combine on Monthly Poll

In a move that seems somewhat down-market for Vanity Fair, the magazine is joining with CBS News in inaugurating “…a monthly survey of the American consciousness, to appear both in the magazine’s pages and occasionally on television.” One of the first findings: Wal-Mart was overwhelmingly selected as the best corporate symbol of America today.
