Tesco debuts in India through cash and carry

Britain’s largest supermarket chain, TESCO, has plans to open a wholesale Cash & Carry business in INDIA. In addition, Tesco has signed a deal with India’s TATA Group to develop it’s hypermarket business. Currently, India’s government has foreign investment rules that prevents multi-brand retailers such as Walmart and Tesco from opening retail outlets. They can only operate Cash & Carry businesses.
