Star Ledger Hopes to Buyout Employees

Owners of The Star-Ledger announced today that they will sell the newspaper if they are unable to win union concessions and buyout full-time workers within the next two months. Memphis-based Union Workers Ratify New Contract with Kroger

Kroger announced today that the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 1529 in Memphis ratified a new, 4-year contract with the chain.  The agreement covers some 7,500 workers at 72 Kroger locations in the Memphis area and parts of other states.  Dow Jones Newswires  (Mar. 3, 2008)  Paid subscription may be required.
