Socially Responsible Shopping Catches On…

Food marketers, apparel makers and electronics companies are doing it.  And the second anniversary of U2 front man Bono’s RED campaign (featuring red-colored products from numerous companies) to benefit AIDS relief in Africa is approaching.  But what to make of the trend?  One academic observer says: “It’s been a success in mobilizing people in the entertainment industry and the highest levels in business … Whether or not it’s been a success on the ground, that still remains to be seen.”  Arizona Republican  (Dec 13, 2007)
