Sainsbury paints itself green with wooden store in Devon
August 18th, 2008
British grocery chain J. Sainsbury, is set to open it’s first ‘green’ store in the town of Dartmouth, Devon. The store, built out of timber and heated by a biomass boiler running on wood chips, is expected to save Sainbury’s about 1/3 of their energy bills. All future openings of Sainsbury outlets would look to incorporate as many features of the Devon store as possible.
