Retailers start sales early to lure bargain hunters amid credit crunch

The United Kingdom is finally getting more aggressive with price reductions in order to lure consumers into their retailers. The British Retail Consortium has announced that “Discounting is more widespread than it was a year ago. These sales are the biggest discounts we’ve seen in recent history. Customers are concentrating the money they have got on essentials and retailers therefore have to cut prices of nonessential items.”
