Ice Storm Delivers; Delays Expected

Quebecor World Logistics NEWS FLASH – Issue #210

The transportation industry may be in for more delays this week as another massive winter storm is making its way across the Midwest, leaving downed power lines, icy roads and treacherous driving conditions in its wake.  All Quebecor World Logistics’ carriers are currently out to deliver, but some trucks containing mail, newsstand and newspaper insert deliveries are experiencing slower travel in areas affected by the severe weather.

The storm that started in Texas currently stretches from Oklahoma to New York, with the most intense portion of the front moving northeast into northern Missouri and Illinois.  Areas of Missouri and Kansas have already reported over an inch of ice produced from freezing rain, making for slow and cautious travel in these affected areas.  The accumulation of ice is expected to worsen driving conditions throughout these states until at least tomorrow morning, with most of Kansas, Iowa, Illinois and Arkansas under an ice storm warning or freezing rain advisory.

QWL remains committed to doing everything we can to minimize any delays to and from the impacted areas.
