Promotion at Rodale Leads to Speculation About Possible Sale

The promotion of Chris Lambiase, vp and publishing director of Bicycling, to vice president and group publisher of the publishers’ running and cycling titles has led some staffers to fret that the group may be sold off. Lambiase ran Backpacker magazine back in 2006, when it was sold to Active Interest Media. Although Rodale denies that any of its magazines are for sale, one anonymous soucre quoted by Folio said he wouldn’t be shocked since the publisher is “…slowly getting out of the special interest field and going to books with large circ.” Folio: (Apr. 29, 2008)
