Print Mags Entice Readers to Zap Bar Codes with Their Mobile Phones

Presto! The curious are directed from the print ad to an online follow-up for additional, deeper information. The practice uses WAP (or wireless access protocol) and requires mobile users to download free software from Scanbuy, which enables cell phone cameras to function as barcode scanners.
