Power Shifts At LA Times Magazine

The Los Angeles Times, is planning on transferring control of its magazine from the newsroom to its business operations as well as replacing the magazine’s entire editorial staff, according to two executives at the paper. The plan was set in motion a few months ago when a new editor was hired, but kept a secret from everyone in the newsroom. Despite the plans, executives warn that things may have changed since it was first described last week. NY Times (June 10, 2008)
