Pepperidge Farm Does Away with Prepricing

In removing pre-printed prices from its chocolate chunk cookies, goldfish crackers and other snacks next month, Pepperidge Farm will join Kraft and Kellogg who have done the same thing to preserve pricing flexibility for retailers coping with rising commodity costs. Beause retailers are loathe to see, both, shrinking margins and customers disgruntled by higher-priced store prices stickered over manufacturers’ price stamps, prepricing could jeopardize the placement of some sku’s on store shelves.
