Mag Hotbed Birmingham Sees 4 Launches in Past Year
Home to Time Inc.’s Southern Progress Corp. subsidiary, Mental Floss and Hoffman Media, Birmingham, Alamaba, has an estabilished pool of publishing talent. Over the past year, their services have been in greater demand thanks to four new launches. Bi-monthly Thicket launched in January with 30,000 copies and hopes of becoming the Texas Monthly of Alabama. Lipstick targets Birmingham women with 25,000 copies. Flower launched last year targeting flower and garden aficionados in Alabama, Tenness and Georgia. And Southern Beauty, which launched nationally in March, aims to bring its vision of inner and outer beauty to people in the region and to transplants in urban areas nationwide.
