Hearst to Launch New Publishing Service

Called Skiff and meant to compete with Amazon’s Kindle Store, Hearst’s new publishing service will sell digital versions of newspapers and magazines for electronic readers and other devices. Skiff will be more visually appealing to readers and will include advertising, which should make it more lucrative for media companies. The Wall Street Journal Dec. 4, 2009 Paid subscription may be required.
