Hallmark Makes Foray into CGC (That’s ‘Consumer Generated Content’)

Last fall, Hallmark invited consumers to submit greeting card designs with tie-ins to (Product) Red, the marketing-philanthropy partnership whose proceeds fight AIDS in Africa. The winning entry is available for sale online today. Their latest contest invites people to submit pet-themed greeting card designs with broad appeal. Hallmark has received countless unsolicited ideas in its almost 100-year history. Now with CGC all the rage, they figured, ‘hey, let’s solicit them.’ The Register-Guard (Eugene, OR) (Jan. 26, 2008)
