Editor-in-Chief Upbeat about Reader’s Digest’s Prospects

In an interview with the Associated Press, Reader’s Digest Editor-in-Chief Peggy Northrop expressed confidence in the long-term prospects of printed, general-interest magazines and the liklihood that her magazine’s pithy, upbeat style would translate well to the web. She also pointed out that Reader’s Digest still has the largest audience, and remains a profitable magazine — despite the re-structuring of their parent company. The New York Times Sept. 6, 2009
