Another Writers’ Strike Casualty: ‘Vanity Fair’s’ Oscar Bash

The Vanity Fair Oscar Party will take a hiatus due to the lingering Writers Guild of America strike – with the 15th such celebration rescheduled for 2009 — according to a statement released by the Condé Nast monthly yesterday. Editor Graydon Carter looked on the bright side, “There will be something sort of liberating about ordering Chinese food and watching the Oscars in bed.” The New York Times (Feb. 6, 2008)
