ANCO Outlines Ike-Affected Area Delivery Plans
On Monday afternoon, a member of Anderson News Company’s Supply Chain Management team wrote to CMG and other business partners, outlining their plans to service Hurricane Ike-affected areas this week. The email (an edited version of which appears below) was based on information gathered over the weekend.
Austin CSC: All deliveries on schedule for Mon , Including Temple. WacoHouston CSC will be closed until Tuesday. The projected date to return to work in Houston is Wednesday (at best). We will work Wednesday through Saturday. Most associates are still out of town as of Sunday afternoon. As of Sunday afternoon, the circled area is without power. We area assembling a list of Zip codes we can service this week. Our Plan as of Sunday night (depending on availability of Hotel rooms) is for 3 associates to travel to help. Monday we will work on a plan of action as to what areas we can deliver product. We will start running routes on Wednesday in the areas that are affected the least and will allow us to start deliveries again. Priority will be weeklies missed from Thursday and Friday and then mainlines. If we can dual-drop, we will. Merchandisers will be instructed to work weekly product first. We will have a plan for what routes will be closed and what routes will run. We will only run Wal-Marts and Airport when we start back up. Convenience store routes will be serviced after we place telephone calls to determine which are open.
Cuero / Corpus Christie: We will resume deliveries on Tuesday. Cuero CSC is behind Pre Weekend , will send 1 associate extra to catch up deliveries.
Louisiana (Kenner & Lafeyette CSC): Southern part of New Orleans and Lafeyette had major flooding and were without power on Sunday. Twelve area Wal-Marts in cities that were out of power. These same cities were affected by the storm from Ike. On Sunday, roads were still not passible because of water.
