Jay Felts is Senior Vice President, Sales, with ultimate responsibility for the company’s relationships within the wholesaler and retailer communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Felts oversees the efforts of four executives who lead the field sales force. He also often represents CMG before industry trade groups.
Felts is a 24 year veteran of the publishing distribution industry, having held leadership positions with some of the most respected organizations throughout the sales and distribution channel. In these capacities, he has called on leading retail chains from every category with periodical sales.
Before joining CMG, Felts was Senior Vice President of The News Group with responsibility for all national chain marketing activities that amounted to more than $700 million in annual sales. Prior to that, he held executive positions with Simon & Schuster overseeing the distribution of four of their book imprints. Earlier in his career, he held positions of increasing responsibility on the sales staffs of The New York Times Company and Time Distribution Services (TDS). While at TDS, he was the recipient of numerous sales awards, including District Manager of the Year.
Felts is an honors graduate of the University of Florida. He currently makes his home in Atlanta.
