Robert Zawacki

Vice President, Operations

Zawacki Web DSC 0824Bob Zawacki is Vice President of Operations for Comag Marketing Group (CMG) with three principal areas of oversight: racks administration, the merchandiser field force and operations initiatives. Zawacki is the executive most directly responsible for ensuring that single copy sales strategies – once formulated – translate into “facts on the ground.”

Zawacki joined CMG at its founding in the spring of 2000 as the company’s leadership sought to augment its management team with several proven executives from the newsstand circulation industry. He arrived with more than twenty-three years of experience managing many of a national distributor’s key functions: allotments, retail display allowances, store fixture procurement, traffic and store merchandiser management. From coordinating the activities of some 500 staff members on behalf of numerous clients, Zawacki also developed special expertise in field communications.

Among his first undertakings with his new company was to devise and conduct a controlled test of the cost effectiveness of store merchandisers to service some of CMG’s larger publisher accounts in key retail locations. The test demonstrated the effectiveness of such a program in late 2000, and Zawacki brought the program into full swing in 2001.

Zawacki’s management acumen was recognized early in his career by supervisors at Time, Inc., where he won “Outstanding Employee of the Year” honors in 1986. He began his career as a territory manager for The Keebler Company, after receiving a B.S. degree from Central Connecticut State University. Zawacki currently resides in Westchester, New York.
