How do I do if VPN is not working for the wireless at my hotel?

Make sure the first thing you do if you can not connect to VPN is to double check to see if you are on the internet. Go to a page where the content is replaced often. Try www.CNN.com. If that page comes up, you are on the internet. If it does come up and you can refresh the page with no warnings stating that the page can not be found but can not get onto the VPN do the following.

Certain hotels need for you to change your VPN options in order to connect to VPN while on the wireless network. Right click on VPN key and lock icon at the bottom right, near the time. Right Click and select Settings.

When the window appears, make sure the 12.107.38.2 is highlighted, if it isn't highlighted click on it to highlight, then click on Properties.

Click on the Advanced Tab. It should be set as normal set up, shown below:

Uncheck Connectivity Enhancements, then select OK button, which closes this window and select OK button on the next screen.

Once that is done go to the VPN icon in bottom right hand corner and right click. Select Stop VPN-1 SecureClient. It will ask you if you are sure, click Yes. Once icon has disappeared go into Start => All Programs => Check Point VPN-1 Secure Client => Secure Client. Click on Secure Client. This will make icon appear in right hand corner. Right click and select Connect. Sign on as usual.
