Executive Vice President
Michael P. Herrington is Executive Vice President with responsibility for retail sales and wholesale logistics. In addition to this, he also leads the client marketing side of CMG. On behalf of this diverse group of publishers, Herrington oversees all circulation programs for domestic, specialty, and international sales. He also spearheads CMG’s company-wide client renewal and selective client acquisition efforts.
Since joining CMG in 2001, Herrington has played an increasingly pivotal role in the company’s overall success. He brings a detailed understanding of the newsstand distribution system gained from a 25 year career in the publishing distribution industry. He was an “early adapter” of category management, establishing one of the first departments for a national distributor. He is a proven administrator, who increased efficiencies and improved service by implementing a sales force automation program across numerous departments and a far-flung field staff.
Earlier in his career, Herrington worked as a field force manager in key markets in the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast regions before rising to lead a large field force nationwide. He has also orchestrated the retail go-to-market strategies for several of the most successful national magazine launches in the past decade.
Herrington holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, and currently makes his home in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
